Carter Holland's colorful guitar playing and vocal talents have entertained fans across the world for nearly three decades.
Arriving in San Antonio by way of Boston and New Jersey, his musical roots began with a deep love for southern rock-based blues. After a few years playing trumpet, Carter discovered the electric guitar at age 12. He cut his teeth by studying the styles of early southern rock six-stringers like Duane Allman, Ed King, Albert Lee, and Paul Barrere. Moving on to study jazz and rock in college, he was exposed to talents of Jeff Beck, Steve Morse, Mike Stern, John Scofield, and Scott Henderson. Through dissecting the combination of many traditional and contemporary blues-based guitarists, Carter's own unique style has emerged with a unique blend of soulful melody and raw, energetic improvisation.
His musical journey includes a range of live performances and studio recordings with blues, R&B, rock and jazz acts. He has shared the stage with both nationally-acclaimed and indie bands including Little Feat, The Gin Blossoms, The Greg Gardner Group, One More Once, The Chad LaMarsh Band, and The Smokin' Toasters. Passionate about the intersection of music and business, Carter is also an entertainment and technology marketing strategist who currently runs worldwide marketing at NewTek, a leader in live video production and web streaming.
